The Voice of Mali (or, Mali Kan) is a stunning display of traditional Malian music and dance. Directed by associate professor Joe Galeota, this concert features one of the most respected djembe masters in the world, Moussa Traore, and special guest Balla Kouyate.

Traore and his team of professional musicians and dancers, along with some of Berklee’s finest percussion students, take the audience on an exhilarating musical caravan through some of Mali’s famous cities, including Bamako, Timbuktu, Segou, and Kaye. In doing so, they play instruments such as the kora, balafon, flute, djembe, ngoni and dunun.
