Hot sounds meet cool breezes on the waterfront. The Institute of Contemporary Art presents a new series of Friday-night concerts and DJ sets on Boston Harbor, featuring a dynamic lineup of musical talents, pop-up restaurants, refreshing cocktails, and more.
The project of composer Thomas Arsenault, Mas Ysa combines love songs, ecstatic pop, field recordings, and techno into mournful but danceable folk. Peripatetic Montreal native Arsenault studied composition at Oberlin and lived in Saõ Paulo and San Francisco before landing in Brooklyn, where he built a recording studio and worked with choreographer Rashaun Mitchell. Mas Ysa tours widely and recently released a melancholy debut EP, recorded after Arsenault relocated to Woodstock, New York.
