Founded in 1716, the oldest operating inn in the United States, part of a property added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, also houses a restaurant serving hearty New England classics alongside more contemporary fare. The historic site is also home to a grist mill, a chapel that is popular for weddings and a schoolhouse. Many special events, from historic reenactments and harvest festivals to whiskey dinners and dinner theater, take place here throughout the year.
