Telemann wrote over 40 compositions based on the Passion texts, and his St. Luke Passion of 1744 is a quickly paced and lyrical display of his church style. Thomas Cooley and Andrew Garland sing the Evangelist and Jesus in this work that Boston Baroque has not performed since 1980.
