For one night only nine teens representing five Boston public high schools are taking over the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. On Thursday, June 23 from 6 to 9 p.m. students of the Museum’s Teens Behind the Scenes program will host “Teen Takeover,” a night created by teens, for teens. Multiple performances of different genres will take place in the Museum’s Calderwood Hall, including a special performance by NBC’s The Voice season 8 contestant Nathan Hermida, a Boston Latin School alum, a film screening, a band, an acapella group, and pieces of spoken word. Attendees can design buttons in the Museum’s Living Room and mug for the camera in a photo booth in the Museum’s lush Greenhouse Classroom. A student-run workshop will take place in the Museum’s Education Studio where visitors can create postcards or contribute to a group mural answering the question: What does it mean to be a teen? “Teen Takeover” will take place at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, located at 25 Evans Way in Boston. Admission is free with flyer (print or digital). Adults $15, seniors $12, college students $5, free for members, visitors under 18, and members of U.S. military and their families. Activities are designed for ages 7 and up. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. To purchase tickets, call 617-278-5156 or visit http://www.gardnermuseum.org/calendar/events/7233.
