Harvard Square’s Beat Brasserie Brings Brunch & Live Blues to Harvard Square Every Saturday

We’ve all heard of the Sunday blues, but now Saturdays hold a whole new hue of blue! Every Saturday beginning May 21st, 2016, Beat Brasserie, located in Cambridge’s bustling Harvard Square, is bringing together a rotating line-up of some of the best blues musicians for its all new Blues Brunch Saturdays.
 
Every week from 10:00AM-3:00PM, guests are invited to enjoy live blues performances complemented by the Beat’s full brunch menu. The series will continue on May 28th with singer/guitarist Sonya Taylor. For an ongoing schedule please visit www.beatbrasserie.com.
 
Guests can enjoy brunch appetizers including Sophia’s Greek Yogurt with honey, fresh berries, almonds and granola ($8.50) or Strawberry Rhubarb Coffee Cake with honey butter ($7.50) or opt for Tuna Tartare with capers, shallots, mustard and crostini ($14.50). Those craving a heartier meal can choose from entrees such as French Toast Bread Pudding with berry compote and walnuts ($14.50), Eggs Benedict with braised short rib ($16), spinach ($14.50) or smoked salmon ($15), Quiche filled with spinach, ham and smoked gouda, served with a house salad ($14.50), the Short Rib Grilled Cheese with house salad ($16) or a Prime Natural Beef Hamburger with port wine aioli, crispy fried onions and frites ($16).
 
For something healthy and hearty, Beat will be featuring their Earthly Delight Bowls during Saturday Blues Brunch. These Natural Grain and Salad Bowls come with a variety of different ingredients and a choice of topping. Beat will be offering some of their staple bowls including Bowl Azteca and Hippie Bowl, along with new variations including the Sunny Bowl, with couscous, Greek kale salad, feta, tomato, cucumber, olives and yogurt tzatziki ($14.50), Baby Blue Bowl with baby spinach, iceberg, bacon, avocado and blue cheese vinaigrette ($14.50) and the Simply Salad Bowl with fresh lettuces, chickpeas, veggies and Dijon vinaigrette ($12.50). Additional toppings include satisfying proteins like Blackbean & Quinoa Cake, Grilled Skirt Steak, Norwegian Salmon, Seared Za’atar Spiced Ahi Tuna, Slow Cooked Mexican Pork and more.
 
Blues Brunch Saturdays doesn’t stop with just the food. Guests can complement their meal with a choice of brunch cocktails like a bubbly Mimosa with Domaine Chandon Brut and OJ ($12), the Honey Crisp with Domaine Chandon Brut, apple brandy, apple cider and burlesque bitters ($13.50) or a signature Bloody Mary ($11.50).
 
Bring the kids along and they can enjoy Beat’s Flower Children menu, with tasty brunch choices including Kiddie Scrambled Eggs ($7.50), Kiddie Grilled Cheese ($7.50), Kiddie Pancakes ($9.00) and Chicken Dinos ($7.50).
