Boston Senior Home Care (BSHC) hosts its 40^th Anniversary Celebration— “A Taste of the Town,” at Revere Hotel on Tuesday, November 18, 2014.

For over 40 years, Boston Senior Home Care has provided Boston’s low-income elders and disabled individuals the opportunity to live in their own home by providing care management services and programs to those who wish to remain in their own homes and communities as safely and independently as possible. BSHC celebrates its 40 years of success with a gala, fundraiser and tastings from many of Boston’s prominent restaurants in an around-the-world setting.

Each year, Boston Senior Home Care helps over 6,000 individuals through its various state funded programs and services. However, there are many low-income, isolated elders and disabled individuals who need support to remain at home but do not qualify for its services because they are slightly over the income requirements. Funds raised through this year’s event will be used to support those individuals as well as fund new programs and initiatives that allow low-income elders to age in place in the community.

The event is emceed by Jenny Johnson, Co-host of NESN's "Dining Playbook," and Santi DeOleo, Co-host of Jam’n’ 94.5 morning show, Ramiro’s House. Guests can enjoy music and tastings from some of Boston’s sought-after restaurants, along with cash bar and a live and silent auction. Confirmed participating restaurants for A Taste of the Town include ester, Sweet Life, Casa Romero, Shojo, China Pearl and Perry’s Gourmet Catering. Other restaurants will confirm in the following weeks. Several State and City officials, members of the BSHC Board of Directors, staff and numerous business partners who work on behalf of BSHC consumers are expected to be in attendance.
