Description
Founded in 1946, the ever-evolving Juilliard is widely known as “the quintessential American string quartet.” Since their last Celebrity Series appearance in 2005, the Quartet has welcomed violinist Joseph Lin and violist Roger Tapping into the fold. In this program, the Juilliard focuses on two of Vienna’s greatest musical eras, the early 19th and 20th centuries.
“Each of the four has a notably beautiful tone, a sound that sings out but also blends. They show a shared understanding of the music they play; every bow stroke adds to its meaning and its integrity.” – Chicago Tribune
