Description
Did you know eggs benedict originated in 1894 after Wall Street stock broker Lemuel Benedict ordered “buttered toast, poached eggs, crisp bacon, and a hooker of Hollandaise” at the Waldorf Hotel? The dish was then modified to its traditional version and named after Lemuel, thus creating the classic American breakfast dish.
In honor of the breakfast staple, South Street Diner will be serving over 16 variations of the popular breakfast item to celebrate National Eggs Benedict Day on Wednesday, April 16th. Options include lobster benedict, crabcake benedict, smoked salmon benedict, bacon benedict, asparagus benedict, hot dog benedict, and more.
