Bled for Boston is a year-long project from photographer and Boston Center for Adult Education instructor Chris Padgett documenting the personal stories of over 75 people that received tattoos to commemorate the Boston Marathon tragedy. The collection of Padgett’s stunning and powerful photographs will be on display at the BCAE throughout the month of April 2014, marking the anniversary of the tragic event.

The concept itself was developed nearly 12 months ago, immediately following the marathon tragedy. BCAE instructor and freelance photographer Chris Padgett was so moved by the events that he decided to get a tattoo at Good Mojo Tattoos, a tattoo parlor located in Beverley, MA that was donating proceeds from Boston-themed tattoos to The One Fund Boston. Chris soon noticed a growing number of parlors and people doing the same and he wanted to document the movement. Thus, Bled for Boston was born.
