Eighteenth century colonial taverns were social centers that attracted a wide variety of people. Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum’s new Huzzah! Tavern Nights are no different, offering patrons a chance to rub elbows with Boston’s colonial residents, many of whom played an important part in the Boston Tea Party which took place 240 years ago. The evenings will take place at the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum in Abigail’s Tea Room (named after Abigail Adams, the wife of America’s second president and Quincy, Mass. resident) overlooking the Fort Point Channel, the actual body of water where the Boston Tea Party took place more than two centuries ago.
Guests will feast on hearty tavern fare, learn and play 18th-century games such as Nine Men's Morrice, learn and sing period songs such as “Nottingham Ale” and enjoy lively colonial music in an historical atmosphere. Tickets include one (1) glass of rum grog, wine or beer per person, unlimited freshly-brewed tea and selection of hearty fare. Additional glasses of rum grog, wine or beer will be available for purchase.
