Description

Join Zoo New England for “Cocktails for Conservation,” a new virtual happy hour series with Short Path Distillery. During these monthly hour-long virtual programs, you’re invited to mix up a cocktail at home and tune in to hear from Zoo New England experts and learn more about the passion, care and commitment that fuels the Zoo’s work.

Franklin Park Zoo is abuzz with excitement following several high-profile births in 2020. The first session on January 21, entitled “Oh Baby! Meet the Newest Members of the Zoo New England Family!,” gives you the opportunity to learn more about these adorable new additions.

Presenters at this event include New England’s Vice President of Animal Care, Dr. Malu Celli and Vice President of Animal Health and Conservation Dr. Eric Baitchman. Listen as they discuss the careful planning, collaboration and attentive care that was required for the fall 2020 births of Baird’s tapir twins (believed to be the first in the world), a pygmy hippo (a first for Zoo New England) and a western lowland gorilla (the first gorilla delivered via Cesarean section at Zoo New England). These new additions are not just adorable, each is a beacon of hope for continued survival of their species.

This is a great opportunity to plan a virtual meet-up with friends, learn about the natural world and enjoy a cocktail all from the comfort of home. The price to participate is $15 per session, and all proceeds support Zoo New England’s Franklin Park Zoo and Stone Zoo.

Short Path Distillery is providing cocktail recipes to be made at home, along with offering a 15% discount code on the shop for all non-alcoholic items using code “FRANKLINPARKZOO” at checkout (valid through 3/31/21).

The Zoo is also giving away fun door prizes, including behind-the-scenes tours of the sloth at Stone Zoo or red panda at Franklin Park Zoo, a $50 Short Path Distillery gift certificate and daytime general admission tickets to Zoo New England.
