Beacon Gallery will be featuring the work of artists Wendy Shapiro and Raquel Fornasaro in September. Join them for the opening reception (with free drinks and nibbles!) on Friday, September 7, 5-9 p.m. Free and open to the public. Artists will be present.  

"Be Here Now" features solo and collaborative works by Raquel Fornasaro and Wendy Shapiro. Fornasaro's works include both digital print pieces as well as her unique  "Zoomorphs" oil on canvas series. Shapiro's solo work focuses on meditative abstracts reminiscent of stark landscapes, using textures and environmentally friendly paint. Both artists have a message of environmentalism and ecology in their pieces, with both their subject matter and the use of materials in their artwork. 

Their collaborative pieces, almost all on display for the first time, also allowed these two artists to explore these themes more fully as they worked together.
